01/07/10 Wolvsall and Wolverhampton A in action at Wolverhampton. WSL Div 2 A team: Pre match calculations and research indicated that a win against St George's may just gain Wolverhampton the title of Wolverhampton Summer League Div 2 Champions! So some pressure, St George's bought a strong team despite 2 away fixtures in 2 nights. A great and tense match. Wolverhampton 3.5-1.5.

Congratulations to Wolverhampton A on becoming Wolverhampton Summer League Division 2 Champions 2010 as of 01/07/10. Our 12 points from 4 wins placed us 2 points ahead of 2nd place Halesowen. Wolverhampton A had enough points to be Champions, but even though the Championship had been decided the Summer league wasn't over yet and our WSL A play their final match of the summer league next Thurs 08/07/10. We achieved 5 wins 15 points.

Awards and summer league quickplay night 29/07/10 will be the evening when all successful teams and players will gain their acclaim.

28/06/10 Well 1 week after the Rushall A clash our A team returned to Rushall to play Rushall B. Early feedback indicates it was an exciting night. Well done Wolverhampton A for achieving an impressive 1-4 victory against Rushall. We won on the bottom 3 boards and drew the top 2 boards. Especially well done to our Brian Walker for beating a much higher graded player.

Wolvsall team achieved a draw against Rushall A. Good result. Peter P Jones and M Groombridge won, R Marshall drew. V good result at Rushall.

Meanwhile our WSL A team were at Birmingham St George's but alas no chess pieces were moved and in fact wheelchair access was non existent which was contrary to our belief! No match took place and a reschedule is planned.
