Wolverhampton Show 2013 : Chess in the Park. Sat 13 & Sun 14 July 2013 11am til 6pm, Wolverhampton, West Park, (entrance gate 3 Lansdowne Rd WV1 4AL. Chess stall on field 3 on the right opposite entrance). Wow what a scorcher on possibly the hottest weekend in years! Wolverhampton Chess Club's fifth consecutive year at the huge and ever popular Wolverhampton, City Show. Chess in The Park 2013 turned out to be be the best ever!

Don't miss Chess in The Park and the ultimate outdoor Chess Experience all being well next year at the Wolverhampton Show 2014. Chess In The Park 2013 what a scorcher on possibly the hottest weekend in years; Chess in The Sun! A total contrast to last year's cold, wet weather and Chess in the;mud. Giant Chess, Standard, Time odds (public had at least double time!), displays and the New Midland Counties Chess Union (MCCU) CEO Ray Dolan attended , played the public and supported Chess in the Park/Sun on both days! A massive thankyou to you all and well done Wolverhampton Chess Club for making another year of Chess in The Park 2013 a reality. Chess to the masses and tremendous fun enjoyment of the great game of Chess. Thankyou to all the members of the public who visited our stall and enjoyed the outdoor chess experience. Also a special thank you to Dave Wightman for printing posters, flyers etc and giving feedback, those who set up/dismantled, to Richard as he drove from Sheffield in a hire car to support Chess in the Park, Ray Dolan MCCU CEO and wife Eunice and the many members Frank Wood, Barry Lewis, Phil Porter, Peter Pearson Jones, Peter Tudor, Gordon Sands, Dave Wightman and finally those members who helped or just turned up in support Phil Bull, Tomasz Sygnowski, Parminder Sanghera. Sat 10 & Sun 11 July 2010. Our 2nd year at our City Show. This year was bigger and better than ever. Giant chess, Beat the Chess Player and prizes
galore. Another fantastic weekend we all had. Great fun for all who
attended and played friendlies. Many enjoyed the outdoor Chess experience: "Chess in the Park" Great to be a part of this huge event and we're proud to be part of the Wolverhampton Show! Thank you to all who turned up, helpers, players, and to the many members of the public who played Chess games with us. A great Team effort!!! The Wolverhampton show wouldn’t have been a success without members and key members such as Barry Lewis, Richard Dawson, Gordon Sands, Dave Wightman, Paul Walters and Steve Wilson (all subcommittee). All helped during the weekend as well as Mike Townsend, Max Wooton, Bob Khoshnevis, Colin Haughton, Mike Steed. Matthew and Peter Tudor, Peter Pearson Jones, Dave Wightman, Ray Dolan of SCA.

All help and efforts very much appreciated.

What a fantastic weekend we all had. Great fun for all who attended and played friendlies.

A Great successful event. Wonderful to experience outdoor Chess at the Wolverhampton Show and to be a part of this huge event!

Thank you to all who turned up, helpers, players,the Wolverhampton show wouldn’t have been a success without members and key members such as Barry Lewis, Richard Dawson, Gordon Sands, Paul Walters and Steve Wilson (all subcommittee).  All helped during the weekend as well as Frank Wood, Mike Townsend, Max Wooton, Bob Khoshnevis, Colin Haughton, Mike Steed.  Ray Dolan of SCA did an excellent job on both days supporting us with promotion and playing public.   Also Peter Broomhall’s attendance on Sunday much appreciated!

Wolverhampton Chess Club will be present at this huge event from 11pm til 6pm. Admission is Free. Gates open from 11am.

Day 1 of the show was a great day and many of our members played friendlies with public and chatted. A concerted effort from our members and special thanks to Ray Dolan. BUT day 2 of the Wolverhampton Show is tomorrow and we'll all be present to try a make the day an enjoyable one. So, everyone come along! Have a game Chess, experience outdoor chess or find out more about our club.

Day 2 we'll have 1 Blitz board, as well as the Giant Chess! Plenty to see and do at our stall and at the Wolverhampton Show..

10/07/10 It's Showtime! The Gazebo's up as of last night! Everyone knows their rota allocations. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far and today hotter.

It's 7.46am and soon we'll be setting out to set up Wolverhampton Chess Club stall.

Our pitch in roughly same place as last year. et's all have a fabulous weekend at our wonderful City Show!
