Rushall brought a strong team which has won Division 2 for the last two seasons, and we were outgraded on all boards except Bd. 5. It was a very tight match until the later stages, when Max blundered after building up a winning position, and Jeff couldn't quite hold the draw it had looked like. This followed last week's draw at Bushbury, when our two top boards lost what were really drawn positions! My own opponent made a mistake as early as move 4 and struggled throughout, eventually resigning under the impression that the game was lost, when in fact it would have been an interesting endgame though I always had the upper hand!
